Manaslu Circuit is one of the back-breaking trek routes
Mother Nature has to offer. Relatively new trails of the circuit have left most
of the visitors awestruck with its serene beauty and pure wilderness. Manaslu
has formed a natural barrier between Nepal and the Tibetan plateau. The place
has been in the trekking scenario for about two decades. In 1992, after it was
opened for the trekkers, the thrill seekers have been flocking in by the
thousands making it one of the most visited trek routes in the world. ManasluCircuit gives you the exclusive opportunity to go around the world’s eighth
tallest mountain Manaslu and explore expansive vistas of the world’s tallest
peaks. Braving the strenuous geographical barriers and hiking from village to
village, the trekkers will not leave without experiencing the wonderment the
place has to offer. Hidden in between these natural wonders are fascinating
creatures, geologic marvels, the ruins of an ancient civilization, and some of
the best outdoor adventures in the world. It is home to some of the strangest
and most spectacular scenery, balmy temperatures perfect for hiking and
spectacular wildflower blooms that transform this landscape into an explosion
of color.
The party begins at Arughat Bazaar. The final resting point
of the adventure is Besi Sahar. This means that, two of the world’s most famous
trekking routes Manaslu Circuit Trek and Annapurna Circuit Trek are juxtaposed
to perfection. All in all, this is the amalgamation of the culturally diverse
and geographically second-to -none experience. It combines a heritage of
natural beauty and a distinctive regional culture. The trip takes you around
the biggest massif consisting of many peaks higher than 8000m. Mansaslu Trek is
a complete package for the thrill seekers as it is truly a long distance and
challenging trek with memorable scenery as you make your way to the high
altitude. Manaslu Trek is the perfect getaway for those who really want to put
behind the excess of hustles of the lives for a few days.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu
On your arrival to Tribhuvan International Airport, our
staff will receive you and check you in at the best hotels around Thamel, the
tourist and shopping hub of Kathmandu. We choose Thamel because it is situated
at the heart of Kathmandu city and you can go visit Durbar Squares, shop, stop
by some holy shrines in Kathmandu and cater to your savor with exquisite and
world class food.
Day 2 Trip Arrangement, meeting with the staffs and
sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley
Second day is the day your adventure kicks off. We will
introduce to you your mentors, trekking guides, discuss your plans during your
stay here and fine tune the schedule. Once we are over with planning for the
trek, you will be taken for the sightseeing and you get to visit Pashupatinath,
Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath and Durbar Squares. With couple of hours of daylight
to spare, you can go on a shopping frenzy.
Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat, Gorkha, the starting
point of the trek (570m/7hrs)
This is the day when your adventure actually begins. We bid
good buys to the never resting lifestyle of tinsel town for two weeks or so.
After a seven hour drive we will have arrived at Arughat, Gorkha. This is
exactly where the trek to Manaslu Circuit starts off. When you have reached
there you will stay there overnight before you start fresh the next day as you
have to brace for what will be the walk to remember for so many of you.
Day 4 Trek Arughat to Soti Khola (530m/6hrs)
Walk the Budhi Gandaki river bank going past the villages
like Morder and Simre and savoring the culture and lifestyle of the people
there. Once you are at Arukhat River, hike up to Koryopani. Your camp will have
been set up where Seti River and her tributaries join forces. Consider fresh
water bathing here. You stay the night in a camp soaking up the solitude.
Day 5 Trek Soti Khola to Machha Khola(890m/6hrs)
You can get an early start and hike down Soti Khola until
the trail begins to take off in the later part of the day. The trail gets
interesting from here on as it cuts through the forests providing you an
exclusive opportunity to sneak peek the flora and fauna of the forest. You will
be spending your night at the river banks of Machha Khola with the best local
foods which give you the pleasure that any five star foods give.
Day 6 Trek Machha Khola to Jagat (1350m/6hrs)
Trek only gets intense from here on as the altitude rises.
However, the trail offers you some recess in between like hot springs and lush
green forests with endangered species running across the forests. Not to
mention, the vegetation changes with every few hundred meters of rising
altitude. Your day will be done at Jagat and you will be staying the night
here.
Day 7 Trek Jagat to Philim (1700m/3hrs)
This is going to be a fun day as day seven will be one of
the shortest days. After a sheer three hour hike you will have reached Philim.
You can enjoy rest of your day sipping a hot cup of locally brewed coffee or
tea. You can take a stroll around nearby places.
Day 8 Trek Philim to Deng (2095m/6hrs)
Trip gets more exciting with every passing day because with
the change in elevation the topography and wild life change and so do the
cultures and lifestyles. Walk from Philim to Deng is no exception either.
Day 9 Trek Deng to Namrung (2900m/5hrs)
You get to hike some farm lands and come in contact with
dense human settlements than the sparse ones you have seen during this trip.
You get up close and personal with Naike peak, Manaslu North (7774 meters) and
Manaslu (8150 meters).
Day 10 Trek Namrung to Lhogaon (3100m/4hrs)
Now that we have gained some altitude and we are already
into alpine climate, we get to enjoy phenomenally large number of mountain
views. Not to forget, pasturelands, glaciers and up streams. You will take the
best and the easiest trail all the way up to the gompa. On your way to your
destination, you walk the trail that cuts through Lho village, predominantly a
Buddhist settlement, with chortens and manis. You can look over your shoulders to
find Ganesh I watching your back. You will finish off your day at Honsansho
Gompa which gives you a spectacular view of Peak 29 and Manaslu.
Day 11 Trek Lhogaon to Samagaon (3390/4hrs)
Basically, you will start your day on an exciting note
because it is going to be a short day at work. It is just a four hour hike
followed by a full day of acclimatization.
Day 12 Acclimatization Day
With every hundred meters you climb the air will get thinner
and you need to adapt just so. We allow you to spend some time in Samagaon
where you can get used to the altitude.
Day 13 Trek Samagaon to Samdo (3690m/4hrs)
It is now time to roll up the sleeves because a day of
acclimatization has given you enough of the rest and your system has somewhat
gotten used to the environment around. You will be camping out on the higher
altitudes from this point forward.
Day 14 Trek Samdo to Larka La Phedi (4460m/3hrs)
Hike along the ever shrinking Budi Gandaki River. You can
see towering mountains around you. Across the river is a huge settlement Sumdu.
You will find a stream that runs through Gya La, the gateway to Tibet. You will
also see the remains of what used to be a trading hub back in the history. You
will have stayed in lodge in days as there is one set up with the hikers in mind.
It takes a hike of a short amount of time before you reach
the northern facet of Larkya Glacier. This place offers a great view around.
You can view Cho Danda and Larkya Peak. The pass gets steeper as you hike up.
As you set your foot on the apex you will realize it was worth every bit of
effort you made. Nothing is more soothing than trying to catch your breathe
with beautiful mountains right before your eyes. Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal,Kangguru
Himal and Annapurna II are treat to the eyes. Although, you can never get
enough of what you will see there, all good things must come to end and so must
your stay there. You will hike down to Tanbuche from there.
